Registered Nurse - Urgent Care

Position Summary The Registered Nurse Health Services is a member of the multidisciplinary team working in collaboration with the physician. The RN utilizes the care process consistent with their license or certification including initiation of interventions within individual scope of practice. The RN is also responsible for overseeing any necessary coordination of the multidisciplinary plan of care and ensuring consistency with the medical treatment plan. Patient Care Process Includes: Assessment – an orderly process that identifies, gathers, and organizes subjective and objective data pertaining to the patient, family, or significant other. Planning – identify actual or potential problems and desired outcomes (goals) to produce a documented plan of care that directs treatment for the patient, family, or significant other. Intervention – specific interventions or orders implemented consistently with the plan of care and medical treatment plan. Evaluation – determine effectiveness of interventions in achieving the plan of care, decide on reassessment and revisions to problems, goals, plan of care and interventions, and document required actions. Based on findings during assessment and reassessment: patients have problems prioritized relative to biophysical, psychological, environmental, self‑care, educational and social status; goals are identified consistent with the problem; education consistent with the identified problem and associated goals is considered essential for patient empowerment. Qualifications Education : Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing required. Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred. License : Current RN license in the State of New Jersey. Valid New Jersey driver’s license preferred. BLSHCP required. ACLS required (not required for urgent care settings). Experience : 3–5 years clinical experience including pediatric experience required; demonstrated leadership ability; strong organizational skills preferred. Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at time of hire; training will be provided and proficiency required within 30–60 days. Performance expectations: Demonstrates competencies as established on the assessment and evaluation tool for this position. Work Environment Potential exposure to hazards and risks of the hospital environment, blood‑borne pathogens, infectious disease, hazardous substances, and injury. Requires reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, extensive standing, sitting, walking, with lifting approximately 25–50 pounds with assistance. Periodic traveling to company off‑site locations expected. Requires high mental stress demands and ability to handle large numbers of interactions and interruptions. Reporting Relationship This position reports to the Practice Manager or the Administrator‑Ambulatory Services.
