Loan Officer Ohio Office The Loan Officer provides exemplary customer service, maintains current knowledge of applicable lending products and requirements, supports coverage and overflow needs across the lending team, and works to meet or exceed established sales and performance goals. - Schedule and take loan applications with prospective borrowers to make sales of single-family residential mortgage loans and select cooperative markets.
- Evaluate credit and financial status of prospective borrower to determine appropriate residential mortgage loan proposal.
- Work directly with loan processors, underwriters, and closers to facilitate the closing of loans in a timely fashion.
- Provide Backup for other loan officers while they are out of the office.
- Assist the East Coast Manager with overflow of NY, NJ Cooperative loans, and reporting.
- Providing exemplary customer service, building strong client relationships, and meeting or exceeding set sales and performance targets.
- Attending and supporting local Ohio community events.
- Maintain an on-going knowledge of Fannie Mae, and other portfolio lending products.
- Prospect and network, building relationships while developing referral source base.
- 1-3 years of mortgage origination, banking and lending experience is preferred.
- Foundational knowledge of financial services, real estate, lending, or loan processes is preferred.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to explain loan details and discuss personal financial information clearly and professionally with clients.
- Strong mathematical, statistical, and analytical skills.
- Excellent time management, verbal communication, and written communication skills.
- Sound knowledge of loan terms, conditions, and product types.
- Strong critical thinking and sound judgment.
- Ability to stay current on loan regulations, reforms, and industry changes.
- Ability to obtain federal registration and successfully complete applicable pre-employment screenings.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate degree or bachelor's degree preferred, particularly in Business, Finance, Real Estate, or a related field.
- Nationwide Multistate Licensing System & Registry - Ability to maintain a NMLS license and continuing education is required.
