Health and Safety Manager

A global metals manufacturing and recycling organization is seeking a Health & Safety Manager for its Augusta, GA area operation. This person will be tasked with leading all health, safety, and environmental initiatives across a complex industrial facility while driving continuous improvement and regulatory compliance. The role will play a key part in strengthening a proactive safety culture, reducing operational risk, and partnering closely with leadership to support business objectives. It offers an opportunity to make a visible impact at a growing site within a large industrial organization. The Role Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing improvement of site-wide EHS programs and management systems, ensuring alignment with corporate standards and ISO-based frameworks. Drive a strong safety culture through leadership engagement, employee involvement, effective communication, and proactive risk reduction initiatives. Ensure compliance with applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations through audits, inspections, investigations, corrective actions, and agency engagement. Oversee critical EHS functions including training, hazard assessments, industrial hygiene monitoring, incident management, emergency preparedness, and contractor safety. Analyze and communicate EHS performance metrics to leadership while identifying opportunities to improve safety, environmental performance, and operational effectiveness. The Candidate Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field; equivalent experience will also be considered. 8+ years of EHS experience within manufacturing, industrial, metals, chemicals, or other process-driven environments. Strong working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, NFPA, and other applicable safety and environmental regulations. Proven experience leading audits, incident investigations, risk assessments, and employee safety training initiatives. Excellent leadership, communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across all levels of an organization. #J-18808-Ljbffr
