Title: Research Support Staff (#0077120T)Position Number: 0077120THiring Unit: Thompson School of Social Work & Public Health, Dept of Public Health SciencesLocation: University of Hawai‘i at ManoaDate Posted: May 18, 2026Closing Date: June 1, 2026Salary Information: Pay Band A, minimum monthly salary $4,458 per month or commensurate with qualifications and experienceMonthly Type: 11 MonthFull Time/Part Time: Part Time - Full Time Equivalency: 75% Temporary/Permanent: Temporary - Not to Exceed: August 30, 2027Funding: Extramural Funds Duties and Responsibilities: *Under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, coordinate and communicate with Native Hawaiian community partners and research participants.*Schedule and coordinate meetings with Native Hawaiian community partners, maintaining regular communication via email, phone, and in-person visits, preparing and distributing meeting agendas and summaries.*Track partnership agreements, MOUs, and deliverables.*Coordinate participant recruitment in collaboration with community partners, scheduling interviews, focus groups, and data collection sessions, maintaining participant contact logs and tracking databases.*Assist in addressing participant questions and concerns, and supporting dissemination of findings back to community partners.*Support research related activities (e.g. coordinating travel, purchasing, and tracking project expenses).*Work closely with student researchers and provide qualitative research guidance by training students in qualitative interviewing techniques, providing guidance on culturally grounded research approaches, supervising transcription and data management processes, assisting students with coding and thematic analysis.*Support the psychometric analysis and measurement research as needed by assisting with data cleaning and preparation, supporting scale development and validation efforts, assisting Principal Investigator in preliminary statistical analyses, and maintaining documentation of analytic decisions.Facilitate staff and project meetings by scheduling recurring project meetings, developing meeting agendas, recording and distributing meeting minutes, tracking action items and deadlines, and coordinating collaborative work across research team members.Other duties as assigned*Denotes Essential FunctionMinimum QualificationsEducation and Professional Work ExperiencePossession of a baccalaureate degree in Public Health, Psychology, or related field and 0 years of progressively responsible professional experience with responsibilities for public health program management and research support, research administration, community outreach, or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated. Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesFunctional knowledge of principles, practices and techniques in the area of psychology, public health, and Native Hawaiian issues demonstrated by knowledge, understanding and ability to apply concepts, terminology.Functional knowledge and understanding of principles, theories, federal and state laws, rules, regulations and systems associated with research administration, grants management, and Native Hawaiian issues.
