Senior Accounting Manager

Location: Pittsburgh, PA (Local Candidates only)

Employment Type: Full-Time | Permanent | Salaried Exempt

• We are seeking a Senior Manager - Accounting Services to oversee complex accounting engagements, mentor accounting professionals , and drive quality financial outcomes for a growing portfolio of clients.

• This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting leader who combines technical accounting expertise with strong communication skills and thrives in a collaborative, ownership-driven environment .

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee multiple client accounting engagements while ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with GAAP standards.

• Serve as a trusted advisor to clients by managing relationships, expectations, and financial reporting needs.

• Review and deliver high-quality financial statements, reporting packages, analyses, reconciliations, and month-end close activities.

• Lead , mentor, and develop Senior Accountants, Staff Accountants, and bookkeeping team members.

• Manage team workload, utilization, and engagement assignments to ensure successful delivery.

• Identify potential risks, process gaps, and opportunities for improvement before they impact client outcomes.

• Develop and implement accounting workflow improvements, documentation standards, and operational efficiencies.

• Monitor engagement performance, financial health, scope alignment, and client satisfaction.

• Partner with leadership to improve systems, processes, and overall service delivery.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance , or related field.

• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience with leadership responsibilities.

• Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and financial reporting.

• Experience managing multiple client accounts or accounting engagements.

• Proven ability to lead and mentor accounting professionals.

• Strong understanding of month-end close, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement preparation.

• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently while managing competing priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA certification preferred.

• Experience in public accounting, outsourced accounting services, or client advisory services.

• Experience managing accounting teams in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong process improvement and operational leadership skills.
