Hospice Aide

We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Hospice Aide to join our dedicated care team. This role provides personal care, emotional support, and comfort-focused services to patients and families during end-of-life care. The ideal candidate is patient, attentive, and committed to delivering high-quality support as part of an interdisciplinary hospice team.

Job Duties:
  • Provide personal care to hospice patients, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility assistance
  • Support patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) while promoting dignity, comfort, and safety
  • Assist with basic homemaking tasks such as light housekeeping, meal preparation, and linen changes
  • Offer emotional support and companionship to patients and families during end-of-life care
  • Observe and report changes in the patient's condition, behavior, or needs to the supervising nurse
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care provided in accordance with agency policies
  • Follow individualized care plans and collaborate with the interdisciplinary hospice team
  • Assist with safe transfers, positioning, and use of mobility devices
  • Ensure a clean, comfortable, and supportive environment for patients
  • Adhere to infection control practices, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements
  • Respect patient rights, privacy, and cultural or spiritual preferences
  • Participate in team meetings, in-service training, and ongoing professional development
Training/Licensure:
  • Graduate from an approved training and competency course. Must be Certified Home Health Aide.
Knowledge/Skills/Ability:
  • Must meet federal Home Health Aide training and competency requirements.
  • Ability to work independently, make accurate, and at times, quick judgments.
  • Ability to respond appropriately to crisis outside of a hospital setting.
  • Acceptance of and adaptability to different social, racial, cultural and religious modes.
Experience:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a nursing assistant, preferred.
  • Active patient contact within past three years, preferred.
