Heavy Equipment Operator

The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, environmentally responsible handling of material and operation of equipment.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities/Accountabilities

• Move bulk material and cargo, and/or load trucks, with heavy equipment
• Complete daily paperwork, including daily equipment checklist
• Operate all equipment safely and efficiently, complete daily pre-trip inspection.
• Perform general labor tasks to assist with material processing and property maintenance, pile maintenance (turning), or other projects as needed.
• Follow all safety and operational policies, regulations, and programs.
• Successfully complete all required training programs
• Monitor product for quality and report any issues or concerns.
• Perform other duties as assigned and assist other staff as needed.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of heavy equipment experience such as front end loader, excavator, dozer, trackhoe. Not a forklift position.
• HS Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license and transportation required.
• Minimum 1–3 years' experience operating heavy equipment including: front-end loader, bulldozer, excavator, and heavy forklift.
• Ability to safely lift 50 lbs.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to work varied hours including weekends, holidays, evenings, and/or overnight shifts required.

Physical Demands/Work Environment

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to stand; walk; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to walk with alternate standing. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is subject to a dry, sometimes dusty warehouse environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
