Electrical SuperintendentThe Electrical Superintendent role is responsible for coordinating all activities related to the electrical disciplines on construction projects valued at up to $1M, completing work ahead of schedule, within budget and within specifications. The duties will vary by client and project size with varying degrees of responsibility and authority. This role will estimate and run small cap projects less than $1M. The perfect candidate will be able to interact with clients to develop new relationships as well as maintain existing relationships.Essential Job FunctionsPromote and comply with all Company and safety policies and proceduresManage a combination of two or more Leadmen, Foremen and Superintendent I's & II's, and up to 60 or more employeesSupervise overall direction, coordination, performance and evaluation of sub-contractorsDirectly supervise, coordinate and delegate activities of Superintendent(s), Foreman(men) and/or construction trade workers in one or more occupationsCoordinate activities of multiple subcontractorsInteract with client in order to keep the project on schedule and under budgetMaintain a well-organized receiving systemPrepare accurate two week look-aheadPerform all types of job layouts with the latest technologyCommunicate effectively to employees in oral and written formPerform minor estimatingUnderstand and use schedulesComplete all required project reports and maintain appropriate documentation on all facets of the projectEnsure that all operators are certified and maintain all equipment on the projectAssist Human Resources and Superintendent by interviewing, hiring, and training, appraising work performance and addressing complaints of employees in the fieldManage, lead direct reports, and mentorSupervisorySupervise up to five foremen and lead other superintendents and crews consisting of up to 100 or more employees.Education and Work Experience RequirementsFive (5) years' experience/knowledge or combination of experience and education in a supervisory roleKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities RequiredBe knowledgeable of MIC Health and Safety programs and project specific regulations. When on-site, actively participate in daily toolbox meetings with crews and subcontractors. Set a personal example of safe behavior. Organize, instruct and supervise construction crews and sub-contractors in all areas of construction Knowledge of all construction tools, machinery methods and procedures Must be able to forecast and monitor costs of project Understanding of construction methods, scheduling and blueprint reading The ability to demonstrate leadership, lead by example, motivate workers and communicate with workers, subordinates and clients Computer experience with Microsoft office, Email and Internet preferred Ability to work well under pressure and within timelines Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals Ability to write routine reports and correspondence Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables Other may duties may be assigned Maintain in-depth relations with all members of their team and your supervisor.Physical DemandsWork up to a 12-hour shift doing hard physical work in varying temperatures and outside conditions. May need to maintain physical strength and stamina; Use arms, hands, and legs fully; Push, pull, and frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds; and stoop, kneel, balance, crouch, crawl, and climb to perform job tasks. Stamina to perform this task repetitively and continuously for several hour intervals. Uncontrolled environmental conditions: Constant change in weather and site conditions. This work environment may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors and/or loud noises. Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to- safety toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.). Move in and around confined, cluttered, and uneven areas. May need to work at heights and must be able to abide by all safety and fall-protection requirements; must be able to wear and utilize all safety equipment required for work at heights. Evaluate information based on measurable standards; and see details in objects or drawings and recognize slight differences in shapes and shadings. Visualize objects in three dimensions from drawings. Keep good balance and work at heights. See well (either naturally or with correction). Hear well (either naturally or with correction.) Coordinate the use of eyes, hands, and feet.HoursThis position is a Full-Time position scheduled to work typically 50 hours per week. Schedule is subject to projects requirements.TravelTravel required up to 90%. Position requires presence directly on the Project Site location with intermittent travel to residence of record.
