• Previous purchasing knowledge is not required but is preferred
• Knowledge of Sage is a plus.
• Responsible for acquiring materials, supplies and services and purchasing orders for goods that have standard costs and quoted discounts already in place.
• Negotiates with vendors to obtain quotations, prices and delivery times.
• Evaluate vendor quotes and services to determine if they are compatible with the company objectives.
• Evaluates requisitions and proposals from vendors to negotiate contracts.
• Prepares, reviews, places and tracks purchase orders through the purchasing process.
• Communicate with Sales on due date changes including expediting requests.
• Reviews opportunities for new supply sources and suitability of materials offered.
• Inputs all changes into the purchasing system, including inventory purchase orders, price changes and systems updates.
• Prepares and files all purchasing related documentation.
• Prepares and completes reports as required.
• Retains records pertaining to cost, delivery, performance, and inventory levels.
• Work with the Accounting to ensure proper accounting for raw materials.
• Assist in the evaluation of vendor performance.
• Responsible to maintain confidentiality.
• Anything else determined by the President, Vice President Sales and Plant Manager
