Clinical Intake Specialist

Job Summary Provides individual and group therapy to clients in an outpatient setting while also conducting intake assessments to ensure proper client placement and care coordination. Combines the responsibilities of therapeutic interventions with administrative intake duties, ensuring that clients receive the appropriate treatment based on their needs. Duties & Responsibilities Outpatient Therapy:
• Provide individual, family, and group therapy sessions to clients with a wide range of mental health disorders.
• Develop, implement, and monitor treatment plans for clients, ensuring they meet their mental health goals.
• Conduct assessments to evaluate clients' mental health status, needs, and treatment progress.
• Offer crisis intervention when necessary and provide ongoing support to clients.
• Document and maintain accurate, up-to-date records of therapy sessions and treatment plans in accordance with agency policies and legal requirements.
• Collaborate with other clinicians, support staff, and external professionals to coordinate treatment services for clients.
• Provide psychoeducation to clients and families on mental health conditions and coping strategies.
Intake Specialist Duties:
• Conduct initial intake assessments for new clients, including gathering relevant background information and understanding client needs
• Determine appropriate DSM V Diagnoses based on information presented and relevant criteria.
• Collaborate with the clinical team to determine the most appropriate level of care for new clients.
• Screen potential clients for mental health and substance use concerns and assess the need for services.
• Provide clear and concise explanations of services available and assist clients with the intake process.
• Complete required paperwork and ensure that all client information is accurately entered into the system.
• Assist clients with scheduling appointments and provide necessary follow-up for missed sessions or treatment adjustments.
• Provide referrals to additional resources or specialists when needed.
Administrative and Documentation:
• Maintain accurate and complete clinical records in compliance with confidentiality and HIPAA guidelines.
• Update and maintain case files, treatment progress notes, and other relevant documentation.
• Participate in supervision and ongoing training to stay updated on best practices and new developments in the mental health field.
Collaboration & Communication:
• Work closely with the clinical team and other agency professionals to ensure a coordinated approach to client care.
• Attend regular staff meetings, case reviews, and training sessions.
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with clients, family members, and other professionals in the community. Requirements

- Master's degree in psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field.
- Experience in conducting intake assessments and providing clinical documentation.
- Minimum 1 to 3 Years of experience in conducting intake assessments and providing clinical documentation.
- Previous experience in a mental health outpatient setting is preferred
- RI Licensure Required: LICSW, LCSW, LMHC, LMHC-A, LMFT, or LMFT-A; certification as Principal Counselor or Counselor accepted in lieu of licensure
