Travel RN - Telemetry - Progressive Care Unit

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring post-operative open heart care experience and an active Ohio or Compact RN license. Requirements Active RN license (Ohio or Compact) currently in hand and verifiable via Nursys Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) Minimum 2 years of RN experience required Post-operative open heart care experience required Critical care experience highly preferred Chest tube and other drain management experience required Pre- and post-procedure care experience for patients with radial and femoral access required Proficiency in cardiac monitoring, including reading and interpreting cardiac rhythm strips and responding to rhythm changes Advanced knowledge of cardiac and pulmonary abnormalities required Experience assisting with chest tube removal, pericardial pacing wire removal, and management of temporary pacers (pericardial and transcutaneous) required Experience with non-invasive ventilation (NIV) devices, high-flow oxygen, and other oxygen delivery systems required Skills checklist current within 1 year pertinent to PCU specialty required for consideration Responsibilities Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) of a hospital setting Care for cardiac and pulmonary patients, including post-operative open heart cases Day shift schedule with 12-hour shifts Required to work every other weekend No on-call responsibilities Floating required to all units within skill level Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using age‑specific criteria Assist in planning, directing, and teaching non-RN staff such as LPNs, PCTs, and Unit Secretaries Candidates residing within a 45‑mile radius of the facility are considered local travelers, which affects travel pay rate eligibility No more than 5 days of requested time off (RTO) are permitted First‑time travelers may be considered for this position Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts Job ID: P-742464 Open Positions: 1 #J-18808-Ljbffr American Traveler
