NOC Technician - Night Shift

Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive NOC Tier 1 Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining our network infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and uptime. This role is the first line of defense in identifying and resolving network issues. The NOC Technician will be responsible for Monitoring and Customer support: First line of defense for incoming technical requests from customers. Responsible for monitoring network and system alerts and performing initial analysis to identify and categorize issues. Knowledge within Sonar to troubleshoot common issues – radio alignment – adding routers- network testing- scheduling field techs for jobs. Basic issue resolution to address technical questions based on outlined troubleshooting procedures. Provide clear resolutions to customers and exceptional customer service. Understanding how to troubleshoot simple issues without any assistance and when to elevate more complex problems to higher level teams. Quickly resolving incidents. NOC Technicians work out of our Bosie Idaho office and report to the NOC Manager. Position Responsibilities Monitor Network Systems: Continuously monitor network systems and servers for any unusual activities or failures. Incident Response: Identify, diagnose, and resolve network problems quickly to minimize downtime. Routine Maintenance: Perform regular checks and preventative maintenance on network equipment. Technical Support: Provide technical support to other teams or clients as required. Documentation: Maintain detailed and up-to-date records of network status, incidents, and resolutions. Communication: Communicate effectively with network engineers and other IT professionals to ensure efficient operation of the network. Reporting: Provide reports on network operation status, project progress, and risk assessments. Education: Associate’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Bachelor's degree preferred. Experience: 1-2 years of IT support experience, preferably in a NOC or similar environment. Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent are a plus. Skills: Strong understanding of network protocols and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, VLANs, IP Subnetting). Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal. Work Environment: This position may require shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to ensure 24/7 network monitoring and support.
