Job Title:Banquet HousepersonCompany: Shamin HotelsOrganizational Structure:Department: OperationsReports To: General ManagerSupervision: nonePay Structure: Paid Bi-weeklyPosition Summary:The Banquet Houseperson is responsible for setting up, breaking down, and maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of all banquet spaces in accordance with hotel standards. This role supports the banquet team to ensure successful execution of meetings, weddings, conferences, and other events.Key Responsibilities:Set up banquet rooms according to banquet event orders (BEOs), including tables, chairs, linens, staging, dance floors, and audio/visual equipmentBreak down and clean banquet spaces after events, returning all items to proper storageEnsure all equipment and supplies are clean, functional, and properly storedAssist with maintaining cleanliness of banquet areas and back-of-house spacesRespond to guest and client requests promptly and professionally during eventsCollaborate with the Banquet Captain and other team members to ensure smooth event executionPerform regular inspections of banquet equipment and report any damage or maintenance needsFollow all hotel policies and procedures, including safety and sanitation standardsSupport additional hotel functions as needed, including assisting in other departments during slow periodsQualifications:High school diploma or equivalent preferredPrevious experience in banquets, events, or hospitality preferredAbility to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periodsFlexibility to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidaysStrong attention to detail and commitment to quality serviceExcellent teamwork and communication skillsAbility to follow directions and work independentlyWorking Conditions:Physically demanding role with frequent lifting, bending, and moving of furniture and equipmentFast-paced environment with frequent event turnoversExposure to cleaning chemicals and varied noise levelsWho are we looking for?Are you someone who values teamwork, takes ownership of your role, and is passionate about serving our guests with warmth and hospitality?
