We are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join a highly respected, hospital-employed Cardiothoracic Surgery program in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. This is an exciting opportunity for an APP with a strong surgical background who enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment while caring for patients throughout the surgical continuum.

The selected provider will work alongside an experienced team of cardiothoracic surgeons, providing comprehensive care from the operating room through postoperative recovery and outpatient follow-up. This role offers a unique combination of first assisting, vein harvesting, inpatient management, and clinic responsibilities.

Position Highlights

• Exposure to advanced and minimally invasive surgical techniques

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as First Assist during routine cardiac and thoracic surgical procedures
• Perform Endoscopic Vein Harvesting (EVH)
• Conduct daily inpatient rounds and manage preoperative and postoperative patient care
• Evaluate patients during outpatient follow-up visits
• Collaborate closely with Cardiothoracic Surgeons, nursing staff, and multidisciplinary care teams
• Assist with perioperative planning, patient education, and discharge coordination
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
• Participate in a shared 1:3 call rotation
• Support quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based patient care

Qualifications

Required

• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
• Current or eligible South Carolina NP or PA license
• Minimum of 2 years of Cardiothoracic Surgery experience
• Experience with Endoscopic Vein Harvesting (EVH)
• First Assist experience in cardiac and thoracic surgery
• Strong understanding of postoperative management and outpatient follow-up care

Preferred

• Experience with minimally invasive cardiac or thoracic procedures
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
