Advisory Services Consultant, Consultant Development Program - Multiple Locations

Optum Insight, a division of Optum, is a leading health information company that helps organizations reduce costs and improve risk management, quality, and revenue growth through analytics, technology, and consulting services. The full-time position located in Eden Prairie, MN or Nashville, TN will be available starting in Summer 2026. Consultant Development Program (CDP) CDP is an Early Careers program for recent college graduates that develops client-facing, problem-solving, and presentation skills across diverse health care engagements. Members work on client teams while receiving mentorship and formal training in consulting competencies. The program typically lasts 1.5–2.5 years and culminates in alignment with an Optum Advisory practice. Primary Responsibilities Enable strategic business transformation through technology, process improvement, and innovation. Conduct research and stakeholder interviews, including collecting, analyzing, trending, and presenting data and recommendations. Navigate client-facing interactions, presentations, and relationship building in scenarios of project delivery, social situations, change management, and ambiguity. Support project success with requirements analysis, presentation creation, project management duties, meeting management, project planning, and budget support. Document customer/client requirements through clear, concise written and oral communication. Perform analysis for business process re‑engineering opportunities and define, develop, and document before‑and‑after process flows. Participate in assessment, project sizing, market analysis, and scope evaluation of potential deliverables. Grow in specific areas of interest and develop subject matter expertise. Develop and support client‑facing presentations. Provide support and information to clients to make strategic decisions and implement enhancements to strategy, productivity, performance, and long‑term profitability. Example Projects Build a go‑to‑market strategy and business case to launch a new product or service. Design an organizational management structure to improve health care delivery operations. Conduct a technology assessment and develop an implementation plan in a payer or provider organization. Create and execute an acquisition strategy for a medical group or provider organization. Conduct change management assessments and stakeholder engagements to ensure adoption of recommendations. Required Qualifications Master's degree earned within the past 24 months OR bachelor's degree earned within the past 24 months plus 2+ years of professional experience conducting research and development projects. Business acumen and basic data analysis experience. Ability to work in office on a hybrid schedule (3 days in office) in one of the two available locations for the duration of the program. Ability to travel up to 80% of the time, depending on project needs and location. Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future. Preferred Qualifications 3.0 GPA or higher. Healthcare experience. Intermediate proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience with research and writing, Power BI, UX/UI concepts, data engineering, and familiarity with AI tools and emerging AI applications. Proven intellectual curiosity. Pay & Benefits Salary ranges from $72,800 to $130,000 annually, based on local labor markets, education, experience, certifications, and other factors. In addition to salary, the role offers a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase plans, and 401(k) contributions.
