A Brief Overview The Electroneurodiagnostic (END) Technologist is responsible for conducting routine and special END procedures including: Electroencephalogram (EEG), Electromyography/Nerve Conduction Velocity (EMG/NCV), Autonomic Function Testing (AFT), Evoked Potentials (EP), Intraoperative Neurophysiologic Monitoring (INM), Long Term Monitoring for Epilepsy (LTM). The technician models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values. What you will do Prepare patients for and perform routine procedures. Perform routine procedures. Conduct END tests in accordance with established Department protocols. Ensure that all equipment is clean and in working order. Initiate opportunities for self-development and enhancement of professional competency. Perform other job functions as assigned or requested. Education/Formal Training Requirements High School Diploma or Equivalent (required). Work Experience Requirements 1–3 years of relevant work experience (required). 1–3 years of relevant work experience (preferred). Licenses and Certifications Requirements BASIC LIFE SUPPORT – American Heart Association (required). Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Basic mathematics skills including multiplication, division, percentages, decimals, and fractions. Basic computer operations skills including use of Windows operating system. Positive interpersonal skills with patients, families, physicians, department staff and other hospital staff. Supervision Provided by this Position No supervisory or lead responsibilities are assigned to this position. Physical Demands May require scheduled nights, holidays, and weekend on-call availability. Physical activities may include crawling, climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion. Must have good balance and coordination. Physical requirements: medium work – exerting up to 50 lbs of force occasionally and/or up to 25 lbs of force frequently. Associate must have close visual acuity including color, depth perception, and field of vision to perform activities such as assessing patients, preparing and analyzing data, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, or extensive reading. Frequent invasive and non-invasive patient contact. Exposure to patient body fluids and hazardous or poisonous materials. Ability to react quickly to emergency situations.
