General Production Laborer - $18.60/hour

We're hiring General Production Laborers in Ravenna for a full-time night shift! If you're dependable, safety-minded and comfortable with physical work in a fast-paced production environment, this could be a great opportunity to get your foot in the door with a growing company.

This is a temp-to-hire position paying $18.60/hour which includes a $1.00/hour night shift differential.

What You'll Do

As a General Production Laborer, you'll help operate and maintain production equipment used in the processing and packaging of rendered products. Safety, sanitation and product quality are essential parts of this position.

Responsibilities include:

• Handle, lift, weigh, batch and mix raw materials.
• Operate and monitor cookers, reactors and other processing equipment.
• Maintain proper temperatures and cooking pressures according to specifications.
• Test product and monitor proper levels throughout the production process.
• Unload liquid tankers and process liquid products according to instructions.
• Filter and package rendered fat.
• Operate electric pallet jacks and/or forklifts.
• Maintain accurate production records and reports.
• Perform mid-shift cleaning and sanitation.
• Clean and sanitize cooking and processing equipment and production areas.
• Assemble equipment before production begins.
• Follow GMPs and all food safety and quality procedures.
• Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Follow lockout/tagout and other established safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary and safe work environment.
• Assist in other production areas as needed.

What We're Looking For

• Dependable with a strong commitment to safety and attendance
• Able to read, speak and understand basic English instructions
• Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
• Ability to work a 12-hour overnight shift
• Comfortable working around production machinery
• Able to follow food safety, quality and sanitation procedures
• Ability to safely operate material-handling equipment as required

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

This is an active, physical production position. Candidates must be comfortable:

• Standing and walking for extended periods
• Frequently handling and moving materials
• Bending, reaching, stooping, kneeling and crouching as needed
• Frequently exerting 25-50 pounds of force
• Occasionally lifting and/or moving 50-60 pounds
• Working in hot, wet and/or humid conditions
• Working around vibration, production equipment, fumes or airborne particles and cleaning chemicals
• Wearing required PPE and following all safety procedures
