We are seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to keep General Matter's facilities clean, organized, safe, and fully operational throughout the workday. Working Monday through Friday during daytime hours and reporting to the Facilities & Construction Project Manager, you will perform routine janitorial duties, monitor facility conditions, assist with basic maintenance tasks, and make sure facility concerns are communicated and resolved promptly.

The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and proactive, takes pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and professional work environment, and is comfortable working independently and responding to changing facility needs throughout the day. Success looks like facilities that stay clean and presentable, supplies that are always stocked, minor upkeep handled quickly, and issues flagged before they become larger problems, so the Facilities & Construction Project Manager can focus on larger projects and operational improvements.

Basic Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining a clean environment
• Dependable, punctual, organized, and able to work independently
• Ability to follow checklists, procedures, and instructions
• Basic knowledge of cleaning products, sanitation procedures, and cleaning equipment
• Ability to identify and report maintenance concerns
• Professional communication and a positive, service-oriented attitude
• Ability to safely perform the physical duties of the position, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, and moving cleaning supplies, with or without reasonable accommodation

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Previous janitorial, commercial cleaning, custodial, or facility maintenance experience
• Experience in a fast-paced environment requiring a resourceful approach to complete tasks within tight timeframes

Additional Requirements

• Monday through Friday, during daytime working hours as established by the company
• Occasional schedule adjustments may be needed to accommodate facility needs or special projects, with appropriate notice where practicable

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly rate for this role is $22 to $30 an hour. Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. Please note that the stated salary range is an estimate and may be adjusted based on market conditions, business needs, or other factors. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan.
