Associate Analyst, Revenue Requirements

The Associate Regulatory Financial Analyst role is a non‑traditional accounting/finance position that works cross‑functionally to support regulatory filings submitted to the New Hampshire Public Utilities Commission (NH PUC) and other state regulators. You will reconcile revenues and expenses used in various cost tracking mechanisms and prepare schedules for distribution regulatory filings for Eversource Electric Operating Company of New Hampshire. The role plays a key part in driving regulatory strategy, responding to information requests from regulators, consumer advocates, and stakeholders, and supporting expert witnesses who testify on each filing. Location: Hybrid role based in Berlin, CT (three days a week on site, two days remote). Travel to Manchester, NH and other locations may be required. Essential Functions Compile financial and accounting information related to revenue filings submitted to the state regulator. Support the testimony of the expert witness before the state regulator on topics covering a multitude of regulatory issues, such as reconciling filings (or cost trackers) related to distribution rate cases, basic/default energy service and generation transition charges, and storm costs. Communicate complex issues and results of financial analysis in terms that are accessible for relevant internal and external stakeholders (management, external counsel, state regulator, consumer advocate, etc.). Prepare and own work papers in support of company filings and information requests received from various internal and external stakeholders. Manage the docket of regulatory proceedings to ensure deadlines are known and met. Contribute to streamlining or improving existing procedures and eliminating or replacing outdated processes. Identify and raise to management any potential regulatory risks, impediments, and communicate progress against goals. Maintain knowledge of current industry trends and legislation pertinent to the business area. Apply generally accepted accounting and economic principles and ratemaking/regulatory principles in an operating environment. Technical Knowledge & Skills Strong knowledge of basic accounting theory. Strong knowledge of accounting practices and procedures. Understanding of deferred accounting principles for all trackers. Understanding of concepts related to rate base and operating income as they pertain to the company’s ROE. Accounting research techniques. Ability to work in an operating environment requiring the understanding and appropriate application of generally accepted accounting and economic principles. Ability to understand and interpret complex documents. Strong problem‑solving skills. Ability to analyze data and extract relevant factors. Strong spoken and written communication skills. Strong customer service orientation. Education & Experience A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a closely related discipline is required. Zero (0) to three (3) years of related experience is required. Experience in the application of revenue‑requirements theory and related regulations for Eversource (PSNH) tracking mechanisms is preferred. Compensation and Benefits Salary range: $75,880 – $84,310 annually, commensurate with experience. Eligible for a potential incentive. Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program.
