Warehouse Inventory Specialist
This role is responsible for monitoring warehouse inventory accuracy by performing cycle counting duties to ensure that all materials are properly verified, reconcile discrepancies and ensure efficient warehouse operations. Maintain inventory accuracy through proper counting, processing of material reports and transfers. Also, responsible for efficiently transporting materials within the facility and stocking material supermarkets, ensuring safety and productivity while adhering to operational protocols. Assist the Warehouse, Production, Engineering and Customer Service in locating materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Material Transportation: Operate a tugger vehicle or forklift to transport materials, parts, or finished products within the warehouse, distribution center or manufacturing facility. This includes following predetermined routes to deliver materials to various departments or assembly lines.
- Loading and Unloading: Load required materials onto the tugger vehicle or forklift, including purchased goods, work-in-process containers and finished goods pallets. Safely unload materials at designated area.
- Inventory Management: Conduct regular cycle counts to verify inventory levels and ensure accuracy in the warehouse. This includes counting products and reconciling physical counts with inventory records by investigating and resolving discrepancies through root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions to prevent future errors. Maintain accurate inventory handling by picking production materials identified on Kanban cards and ensuring all materials are delivered on time to support production needs.
- Collaboration: Work closely with operators, material handlers and line supervisors to maintain workflow efficiency. Effective communication is essential to coordinate material movements and address operational challenges.
- Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organized work area by performing regular housekeeping tasks and following the principles of 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize and Sustain).
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety rules and regulations while operating warehouse equipment, such as order pickers, tuggers and forklifts. Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment.
Requirements
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with inventory management systems and basic computer skills for data entry and reporting. Accurately input data into the inventory management system to maintain up-to-date records of stock levels and movements.
- Mechanical Skills: Ability to operate and perform basic maintenance on tugger vehicles, forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Physical Stamina: The role often requires frequent walking, bending, reaching and pushing, as well as the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary for effective collaboration with team members and reporting issues.
- Attention to Detail: Visual ability and attention to detail are crucial for safely navigating and transporting materials. Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate counting and reporting of inventory.
Work Environment
- This role involves working in a warehouse environment setting, which may include exposure to varying temperatures and conditions. Personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required.
$12 per hour
