Electrical Estimator

Job Title: Electrical Estimator Department: Pre-Construction Reports To: Chief Estimator Location: Greensboro, NC Pay Range: $75,000 - $100,000 Position Summary The Electrical Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial and/or industrial electrical construction projects. This role analyzes drawings, specifications, and other documentation to determine labor, material, and time requirements, helping ensure projects are bid competitively and profitably. Key Responsibilities Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents to develop detailed cost estimates Perform quantity take-offs for electrical systems (power, lighting, low voltage, etc.) Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes Prepare and submit complete bid packages within deadlines Identify risks, opportunities, and value engineering options Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field teams Maintain accurate cost databases and historical records Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as needed Assist with project handoff to operations after award Qualifications 3+ years of experience in electrical estimating Knowledge of commercial and/or industrial electrical systems Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and specifications Strong mathematical and analytical skills Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Accubid, McCormick) and Microsoft Excel Excellent communication and organizational skills Preferred Qualifications Electrical field experience (electrician, foreman, or similar) Experience with design-build projects Familiarity with NEC (National Electrical Code) Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred but not required) Key Competencies Attention to detail Time management and ability to meet deadlines Problem-solving and critical thinking Ability to work independently and as part of a team Work Environment Office-based with occasional site visits May require extended hours during bid periods Physical Requirements Ability to sit for extended periods Occasional travel to job sites Benefits Medical/Dental/Vision Options 8 Company Holidays PTO Company provided STD Company provided Basic Life Insurance 401k with company match Roth IRA Group Life, Accidental D&D, others #J-18808-Ljbffr
