BOWTIE OS is a modern dealership operating system built to bring sales, CRM, inventory, appraisals, desking, FI, service, parts, recon, detail, reporting, customer communications, and dealership operations into one platform.

The application is already built and is being launched at Bridgewater Chevrolet, our pilot store. We are not looking for someone to build a new application from scratch. We need a technically strong, highly organized person who can learn the platform deeply, work beside dealership leadership, troubleshoot production issues, validate workflows and data, coordinate integrations, test fixes, and keep the launch moving when leadership is occupied.

This person will become the technical operating owner for BOWTIE OS inside the dealership. You will work directly with the founder, real dealership users, external vendors, and AI-assisted engineering support to diagnose issues, define requirements, test changes, and make sure the system works correctly in the real world.

You will be taught how the dealership runs. Your responsibility is to turn that operational knowledge into clean system configuration, data rules, testing plans, issue reports, and verified day-to-day workflows.

This is an on-site/hybrid role based around Bridgewater, Hillsborough Township, and Princeton, New Jersey. Regular in-person work at Bridgewater Chevrolet is required.

What you will own

Learn and become the day-to-day technical owner of BOWTIE OS across CRM, sales, desking, inventory, appraisals, FI, service, parts, recon/detail, reporting, users, permissions, and integrations.

Investigate production issues using browser tools, application logs, Vercel logs, Supabase data, API responses, error messages, user reports, screenshots, and repeatable test cases.

Work with AI-assisted development support to diagnose issues, validate proposed fixes, test branches, and confirm that releases solve the problem without breaking other workflows.

Operate and troubleshoot the BOWTIE OS technology stack: TypeScript, React, Next.js, Supabase, PostgreSQL, Vercel, GitHub, APIs, webhooks, authentication, user permissions, and third-party integrations.

Create clear, detailed bug reports with exact reproduction steps, affected user/store/record, expected result, actual result, screenshots, logs, and business impact.

Verify new releases in staging and production through defined acceptance testing before workflows are put in front of dealership teams.

Configure and maintain users, roles, permissions, store settings, workflow settings, templates, communication rules, and operational dashboards.

Validate that customer, vehicle, inventory, repair order, deal, status, reporting, and integration data is correct and consistent across BOWTIE OS and connected systems.

Work directly with dealership leadership to map, test, and improve the full deal lifecycle from CRM and desking through FI, delivery, lender funding, Dealertrack DMS, accounting finalization, commissions, and exception handling.

Help establish the correct rules for deal status transitions, required data, audit events, integration fields, funding controls, accounting handoffs, and finalization.

Coordinate technical follow-up with Dealertrack, DMS, FI, CRM, integration, telephony, email, payment, and other software vendors as needed.

Maintain a visible launch command center that tracks issues, severity, owner, workaround, next action, release status, and verification result.

Train and support dealership users on BOWTIE OS workflows after those workflows are tested and approved.

Document system behavior, workflows, test cases, operating procedures, configuration decisions, data definitions, release notes, and known workarounds.

Help create the repeatable technical and operational launch playbook that will support BOWTIE OS at future dealership rooftops.

Requirements

Strong real-world experience with TypeScript, React, Next.js, JavaScript, Node.js, browser debugging, and modern web applications.

Hands-on production experience with Supabase and PostgreSQL, including data inspection, SQL, schema concepts, migrations, authentication, Row Level Security, user roles, permissions, and data troubleshooting.

Hands-on experience with Vercel: production and preview deployments, environment variables, logs, error diagnosis, release testing, rollback awareness, and deployment verification.

Working GitHub knowledge: branches, pull requests, commits, issues, review workflows, and release documentation.

Experience troubleshooting APIs, REST integrations, webhooks, authentication, API keys, sync failures, queues, data mapping, and third-party service issues.

Able to read code, inspect logs, understand a data model, follow technical instructions precisely, and make controlled fixes when appropriate.

Excellent attention to detail and ability to document issues so another technical person can reproduce and resolve them without guessing.

Comfortable working in a live production environment where customer, deal, lender, inventory, and accounting data must be handled carefully.

Strong problem-solving habits: identify the actual root cause, test a solution, verify the result, document it, and prevent recurrence.

Ability to work on-site regularly near Bridgewater / Hillsborough Township / Princeton, New Jersey.

Strongly preferred

Automotive dealership experience, especially Dealertrack, CDK, Reynolds Reynolds, DriveCentric, DealerSocket, Elead, VinCue, vAuto, RouteOne, Dealertrack FI, service systems, or dealership inventory tools.

Experience with a dealership deal flow from CRM through desking, FI, contracting, delivery, lender funding, DMS accounting, commissions, title, and finalization.

Experience with B2B SaaS applications, multi-tenant systems, audit trails, sensitive customer data, and role-based access control.

Experience with Supabase Edge Functions, realtime applications, Storage, database functions, scheduled jobs, and migration management.

Experience with Twilio, Resend/email systems, Stripe, OAuth, telephony, messaging, payment systems, and vendor API integrations.

Familiarity with AI-assisted workflows and the ability to use AI productively for investigation, documentation, testing, and implementation support.

Strong project management: issue queues, test checklists, change control, launch readiness, training plans, and stakeholder follow-up.

Comfortable training nontechnical dealership users after workflows are approved.

First major assignment

Your first major assignment will be to work directly with dealership leadership to map, test, validate, and document the complete BOWTIE OS deal lifecycle:

Customer and deal setup → desking → credit application → FI → lender decision → contract and signatures → delivery → funding → Dealertrack DMS accounting → finalization → commissions → exceptions, cancellations, chargebacks, and audit history.

You will help make sure BOWTIE OS correctly reflects the dealership’s actual operating rules, while Dealertrack and the relevant lender/FI systems remain the verified system of record for their respective official functions.

What success looks like

You can independently investigate most platform and integration issues, gather the correct evidence, and work with AI-assisted engineering support to move toward a verified resolution.

Every material bug has a usable ticket: exact steps, screenshots, record IDs, log evidence, impact, owner, priority, and retest result.

Releases are tested before and after deployment, with no guesswork about whether a workflow works.

The store has trusted workflows for leads, customers, inventory, appraisals, desking, reporting, and the increasingly complete FI-to-accounting process.

Department users know what BOWTIE OS is for, how to use their assigned workflows, and where to report a problem.

You help turn Bridgewater Chevrolet into the repeatable launch model for future BOWTIE OS stores.
