Job Description

This role offers four openings across multiple industrial job sites in the Swedesboro, NJ and New Castle County, DE areas. Pipefitters will install, modify, repair, and maintain a wide range of piping systems, including gas, water, chemical waste, plumbing, and ventilation systems, within industrial manufacturing, pharmaceutical, food processing, power generation, and commercial facilities. The position focuses on supporting planned outages, shutdowns, turnarounds, and maintenance projects in fast-paced environments where safety, quality, and schedule adherence are critical.

Responsibilities

  • Install, modify, repair, and maintain industrial piping systems for gas, water, chemical waste, plumbing, and ventilation applications.

  • Work on gas systems such as high purity air, nitrogen, vacuum, carbon dioxide, and cylinder gas services using clean copper and welded or compression joint stainless steel.

  • Install and maintain water-side systems including deionized and reverse osmosis water, process chilled water, and chemical treatment systems.

  • Support chemical waste and ventilation systems, ensuring proper routing, containment, and exhaust in industrial environments.

  • Install plumbing and ventilation systems for sanitary waste, including safety shower and eyewash stations, ADA-compliant commercial bathrooms, commercial kitchens, storm systems, natural gas distribution, trench drains, floor drainage systems, and welded stainless steel drainage systems.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, piping drawings, isometric drawings, and P&IDs to plan and execute pipefitting work accurately.

  • Perform fitting, threading, fabrication, and installation of piping systems using appropriate tools, techniques, and materials.

  • Execute brazing and soldering tasks, including Pro-Press and copper pipe soldering, to assemble and secure piping components.

  • Use hand tools, pipefitting tools, rigging equipment, and measurement devices to complete installations and repairs to specification.

  • Follow flange makeup and bolting procedures to ensure leak-free and reliable connections on industrial piping systems.

  • Support plant outages, shutdowns, turnarounds, and capital projects, working under strict timelines and fast-paced schedules.

  • Work safely from elevations using ladders, scaffolding, lifts, and platforms while installing and maintaining overhead or elevated piping.

  • Operate within industrial environments, coordinating with other trades and site personnel to meet project schedules and quality standards.

  • Adhere to all safety protocols, site requirements, and PPE standards while working in potentially noisy, dusty, and high-activity areas.

  • Maintain reliable transportation and readiness to travel to various project locations within the region as needed.

Essential Skills

  • Must hold a Journeyman Pipefitter or Plumbing License.

  • 34+ years of experience in the pipefitting trade, with at least 3+ years of industrial pipefitting experience.

  • Experience supporting plant outages, shutdowns, turnarounds, or capital projects.

  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, piping drawings, isometrics, and P&IDs.

  • Proficiency in plumbing and construction practices involving copper pipes and industrial piping systems.

  • Hands-on experience with pipefitting tools, hand tools, rigging equipment, and measurement devices.

  • Demonstrated skills in fitting, threading, and installation of various piping systems.

  • Proficiency in pipe fabrication, welding support, brazing, and soldering, including Pro-Press and copper pipe soldering.

  • Knowledge of industrial piping systems, valves, pumps, and process equipment.

  • Strong understanding of flange makeup and bolting procedures for industrial applications.

  • Ability to work from elevations using ladders, scaffolding, lifts, and platforms.

  • Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and night shifts during shutdown events.

  • Reliable transportation to travel to multiple job sites in the region.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • NCCER Pipefitter Certification is preferred.

  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Safety Card is preferred.

  • Experience in industrial pharmaceutical, food and beverage, chemical, refinery, or power generation environments.

  • Experience with orbital welding support and sanitary process piping.

  • Knowledge of GMP-regulated environments and related quality standards.

  • Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with piping systems in industrial and commercial settings.

  • Ability to work effectively in outage, shutdown, maintenance, and capital construction projects.

  • Strong attention to detail, quality workmanship, and adherence to safety standards.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Kennett Square, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
