Position Open: Mental Health Counselor (Master's Degree required) Full Salary Range (monthly): Mental Health Counselor 1: Step 1 $6,802.39 Step 2 $7,210.53 Step 3 $7,643.16 Step 4 $8,101.75 Step 5 $8,587.85 (DOQ) Mental Health Counselor 3: Step 1 $7,074.48 Step 2 $7,498.95 Step 3 $7,948.89 Step 4 $8,425.82 Step 5 $8,931.37 (DOQ) Hiring Salary: Step 1 $6,802.39 – Step 3 $7,948.89 per month (Depends on qualifications and licensure/certifications.) Job Summary: Provides professional behavioral health services, including individual, group, and family therapy, crisis intervention, and case management. Also provides Involuntary Treatment Act services as a Designated Crisis Responder and works effectively with the public and coworkers. Qualifications include: Master’s degree in counseling, social work, or a related field. Eligibility as a Mental Health Professional per Washington State guidelines. Possess a valid National Provider Identification Number (NPI) or proof of application must be provided 60 days of hire date. Experience with psychiatric and substance use disorders. Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background checks. Essential Job Functions: Maintain professional ethics, credentials, confidentiality, and appropriate client boundaries. Complete required training and maintain compliance with applicable WACs, RCWs, federal/state laws, and County/Agency policies. Maintain accurate and timely clinical records in accordance with legal, contractual, and Agency requirements. Provide case management, referrals, and coordination with mental health professionals and community service providers. Maintain knowledge of psychiatric disorders, medications, psychotherapy, behavioral counseling, and substance use disorders. Provide timely crisis intervention and response services, including Designated Crisis Responder (DCR) services as required. Perform other duties and assignments as directed by the Director or designee. Working Conditions: The role involves travel and service in various environments, including homes, schools, and correctional facilities, with potential exposure to crises, violence, or health risks.
