Job Description
Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor and Delivery

We are seeking an experienced Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care for obstetric patients during labor, delivery, postpartum, and in the nursery for level 1 newborns.

Position Information:

• Specialty: Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, and Level 1 Newborn Nursery
• Shift: Night shift (7 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours
• Weekend Hours: 24 hours (Every Other/As Needed)
• Call Requirements: Rotate call during low census

Certifications and Qualifications:

• Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, Intermediate Fetal Monitoring, NRP, and STABLE
• Years of Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Labor and Delivery
• Education: Active RN licensure required in the state

Unit Profile:

• Number of Beds: 9
• Patient Ratios: Follows AWHONN Staffing Standards
• EHR: Meditech and Centricity
• Patient Population: Obstetric, Gynecology, and Newborn patients

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary Labor and Delivery nurse, providing independent patient care during the night shift.
• Assist in postpartum care and management of level 1 newborns.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to facilitate patient care and ensure safety and comfort during labor and delivery.
• Perform tasks in other units during high volume or low census as required.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• Experience in Postpartum and Level 1 Newborn Nursery care is highly preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with patients and staff.

Dress Code:

• Scrub Color: Any professional color
• Unacceptable Attire: T-shirts other than nursing-related themes, blue jeans, or casual wear
