Special Education Teacher Job Description:

Middle School Special Day Class (SDC) – Grades 6–8

• Provide specialized academic instruction in English and Math to middle school students in a Special Day Class setting.
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs) aligned to each student's educational needs.
• Deliver differentiated instruction designed to support academic achievement, functional growth, and student independence.
• Collaborate with general education staff, related service providers, administrators, and families to ensure student success.
• Monitor student progress and maintain compliance with all IEP documentation and reporting requirements.
• Foster a structured, engaging classroom environment that promotes confidence, independence, and positive learning outcomes.

• Location: Kelseyville, CA
• School Year: 8/31/2026 – 6/16/2027
• Schedule: Full-Time
• Grade Levels: 6th–8th Grade
• Caseload: Approximately 20 students
• Academic Focus: English and Math
• One opening available

Requirements:

• Active California Mild/Moderate Education Specialist Credential required
• Experience supporting students in a Special Day Class (SDC) setting preferred
• Strong knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and compliance
