Patrol Deputy

Job Description:
Responsible for the preservation and protection of life and property, the prevention of crime, the maintenance of good public order, the enforcement of civil and criminal law, and other related duties as required by direction or assignment. Generally works assigned shifts, but may be called upon to continue duties on other shifts at times as directed. This position requires 12 hour rotating shifts including holidays and weekends. You must already be Louisiana P.O.S.T. certified and have at least one year of Patrol experience preferably two in order to apply for this position.

This position requires physical agility and strength to perform the essential functions of the job. The ability to run, walk, jump, sit, stoop, bend, climb, crawl, reach, pull and twist is needed. Must be able to wrestle with, restrain and handcuff a combative suspect when needed. Must have hand-eye coordination, including the ability to grip with the fingers and hands. Must have clear vision. Must be able to effectively hear and speak in conversation.
You will be required to complete a timed physical obstacle course consisting of physical activities such as crawling through a window, climbing stairs, dragging a dummy; etc.

- Graduate from an accredited high school or GED equivalent
- Possess a valid driver's license
- Must be a U.S. citizen and be at least 21 years of age
- Must be Louisiana P.O.S.T certified
- Must be able to work rotating shift assignments.
