Speech Pathologist Adult Inpatient PRN

A Brief Overview: Organizes and conducts Speech-Language Pathology services to facilitate the (re)habilitation of people with physical and/or psychosocial disabilities. The Speech-Language Pathologist directs the patient's participation in selected activities/treatments to promote and/or maintain good health and communication.

What You Will Do:

  • Organizes and conducts the Speech-Language Pathology plan of care to facilitate the habilitation or rehabilitation of people with speech, language, cognitive-linguistic, psychosocial, and swallowing disabilities.
  • Directs patient participation in selected activities to establish, enhance, and restore speech, language, cognitive-linguistic, psychosocial, and swallowing abilities.
  • Performs evaluation(s), develops an effective treatment plan appropriate to a patient's rehabilitation needs within the care continuum, initiates and participates in the discharge planning process.
  • Educates patient/family/caregiver in applicable health information, treatment and prevention.
  • Performs other department activities such as, but not limited to, documentation, billing, support of department operations, etc.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.
  • Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Master's Degree MA or MS Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited graduate program. (Required)
  • Work Experience: Experience in similar role to position (Preferred)
  • Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Must have professional initiative, objectivity, good time management and interpersonal skills. (Required proficiency)
  • Must be physically and cognitively able to provide patient assessment and treatment. (Required proficiency)
  • Requires the evaluation and treatment skills necessary to provide Speech-Language Pathology services appropriate to the developmental/chronological age of patients on their caseload. (Required proficiency)

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) Licensed by the State of Ohio, Board of Speech Language Pathology and Audiology or Conditional license by the State of Ohio. (Required Upon Hire)
  • Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) American Speech Language Hearing Association Certificate of Clinical Competence or Clinical Fellow (Required Upon Hire)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Basic Life Support Certification (Required Upon Hire)
  • Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) Licensed by the State of Ohio State of Ohio, Board of Speech Language Pathology and Audiology (Required Upon Hire)
  • Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) American Speech Language Hearing Association Certificate of Clinical Competence or Clinical Fellow Certification (Required Upon Hire)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required Upon Hire)
