Forklift Operator

Powered Industrial Truck OperatorOperate powered industrial trucks to load and unload materials and deliveries and move them to and from storage areas, machines and loading docks, into railroad cars or trucks or storage facilities. Safely and accurately load finished product onto trailers for shipping.Essential Functions/Position Responsibilities:Load and unload inbound shipmentsMove merchandize to storage locationsBuilding, picking, and packing palletsPerform quality checks on inbound goodsCarryout simple maintenance on the forklift, like recharging its battery and refuelingIdentify and report mechanical and electrical faults to the supervisor or to the right techniciansPack goods in the area/warehouse by hand when situation demandsIdentify and report damage or safety concerns to managers and supervisorsMove product from the area/warehouse to other units within the company either by using the forklift or by handStacking empty pallets and relocation of palletsPack and move other items other than goods as instructed by supervisors, such as packing hazardous wastesWeigh goods and record the weight in a log sheet.Follow all company safety guidelinesAbility to read production sheetsBasic Computer SkillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to add, subtract, & multiplyAble to work extended work hours and weekends, as needed Self-motivatedAble to work in varying temperaturesProfessional Attitude & conductAbility to reconcile roll tags at end of shiftFollow all company policies per Employee Handbook & Code of Conduct.Performs other job-related duties as assigned.Hiring Requirements/Preferences:HS Diploma or GEDPass background check, drug screen, physical, & Caetus Aptitude testing At least 3 years of forklift experience required.Professional Attitude & conductMulti-task, interpersonal communication, problem solving, and time management skills are needed.High degree of safety awareness and safety disciplineDisplay a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors and the general public at all times.Willing to travel and work away from home when and if required.Be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.Take Caedus placement test for skill assessment.The ability to work a full shift, come to work on time, work overtime as needed and the ability to work according to the necessary schedule to meet job requirements with or without reasonable accommodation is an essential function of this position.Strictly adhere to safety requirements and the policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.Have the willingness to work in a team environment and assist co–workers or supervisors with other duties as required.Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by PRATT Safety and OSHA.Be at least age 18 years of age due to nature of working environment.You will be expected to be flexible to the needs of our business, as we continually strive to meet and exceed the needs of our customers.Random and Suspicion Drug tests are performedPlease be aware that you must successfully complete a drug screen and background check in order to be hired into the Pratt Industries.Pratt Perks: Paid Holidays from DAY ONE Insurance benefits and wellness reimbursement program within ONE MONTH of hire 3 Months: 401(k) with match 12 months: FULL tuition reimbursement and PAID childbearing/parenting leave
