About the Role We are recruiting a board‑certified (or board‑eligible) Pediatric Rheumatologist. Candidates must have completed an ACGME accredited Pediatric Rheumatology (or Med‑Peds Rheumatology) fellowship and will be eligible for appointment at Albany Medical College at a rank commensurate with experience and qualifications. The role may also be assembled for a Med-Peds Rheumatologist with a career focus on running a transition program. Division of Pediatric Rheumatology 4 physician faculty (including the successful candidate) and 1 Advanced Practice Provider Two full‑time and one per‑diem nursing staff, medical assistants, dedicated administrative staff for each clinic and a research coordinator Established outpatient clinics, including 5 satellite clinics Shared inpatient consulting service and after‑hours/weekend coverage Well established procedure clinic and sedation service for joint injections Point‑of‑care musculoskeletal ultrasound for faculty with training and/or interest Infusion program run by the advanced practice provider and nurses with supervision from physicians Strong collaboration with pediatric subspecialists across the Children’s Hospital Faculty appointment through Albany Medical College at rank commensurate with experience and qualification Unique Clinical and Academic Environment Dedicated, in‑house Pediatric Rheumatology Clinical Pharmacy Program in collaboration with Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences Quality Improvement: Division Quality Improvement Team (QIT) through a multidisciplinary group CARRA: Participation in CARRA registry and sub‑studies, supported by a dedicated Research Coordinator Musculoskeletal Ultrasound: Training through USSONAR encouraged for interested faculty Pediatric Interdisciplinary Pain Program: Development of a chronic pain outpatient program with behavioral health and PT/OT services Adult Rheumatology Fellowship Collaboration: Supervision of rotating fellows, didactics, quality improvement, and scholarly activities Didactics: Weekly learner‑led case conference, joint adult‑peds didactics, journal clubs, radiology and renal pathology rounds, QIT meetings, monthly Cassidy Club, quarterly CME lectures, conferences with other academic divisions Other Teaching Opportunities: Sports Medicine Bone Joint course, MSK exam workshops, board review sessions, bedside teaching for fellows Department of Pediatrics: Grand Rounds, Faculty Development Series, Grand Rounds, Community Grand Rounds, Professional Fulfillment Program, Advocacy Opportunities Responsibilities Provide outpatient pediatric rheumatology consultations and follow‑up Perform inpatient rheumatology consultations when on call Participate in shared after‑hours phone coverage and weekend coverage (approximately 1 in 4 on average) Teach and supervise medical students, residents, and other learners Mentor trainees in clinical research and scholarly activities Contribute to division QI and CARRA registry activities Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across the Children’s Hospital Qualifications MD, DO, or equivalent degree Completion of an accredited Pediatric Rheumatology (or Med‑Peds Rheumatology) fellowship program Board‑certified or board‑eligible in Pediatric Rheumatology Eligible for New York State medical license Commitment to clinical excellence, education, and academic medicine Special interest in quality improvement, medical education, musculoskeletal ultrasound, or advocacy initiatives preferred Benefits Competitive base salary range ($180,000‑$188,000 for Assistant Professor, with higher compensation for higher rank and experience) Robust sign‑on bonus Relocation allowance Comprehensive health insurance (medical, dental, vision) Generous paid time off and holiday schedule Albany Med retirement plan and a 403(b) plan Annual CME allowance and dedicated CME time Occurrence‑based malpractice coverage Professional Fulfilment Program, employee wellness programs, and mental health support #J-18808-Ljbffr
