Torque Converter Technician ( Transmission Remanufacturing )

Position Summary The Torque Converter Technician is responsible for disassembling, cleaning, inspecting, repairing, and reassembling torque converters used in automatic transmissions. This role ensures all rebuilt units meet quality, performance, and safety standards. Key Responsibilities Disassemble used torque converters using appropriate tools and equipment Clean components thoroughly to remove debris, fluid, and contaminants Inspect parts for wear, cracks, or damage and determine reusability Replace or repair worn components (e.g., bearings, clutches, seals) Reassemble torque converters to exact specifications Weld and seal units as required in the remanufacturing process Perform balancing and pressure/leak testing to ensure proper function Follow detailed work instructions and quality standards Maintain production efficiency while ensuring accuracy and quality Keep work area clean and organized Adhere to all safety procedures and PPE requirements Experience with transmission systems or automotive repair Familiarity with balancing equipment or welding processes Strong troubleshooting ability Be on time and ready to work each day Maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude Communicate effectively and work responsibly Additional duties as assigned by management to support operations Assembly Line experience Production Line experience Machine Operation skills Milling Machines knowledge Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred Previous manufacturing, automotive, or mechanical experience preferred Basic knowledge of tools, machinery, and mechanical systems Ability to read and follow technical instructions or diagrams Strong attention to detail and quality control Welding or machining experience is a plus Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods Frequent use of hands and tools Ability to lift up to 40 to 75 lbs Comfortable working in a production environment Work Environment Manufacturing or remanufacturing facility Exposure to oil, cleaning solvents, and mechanical equipment Moderate to loud noise levels Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) hearing protection, gloves, safety glasses, steel-toe boots, etc. Employment Type: Full Time Salary: $19 - $25 Annual Bonus/Commission: No
