Mechanical Testing Technician (Onsite)

Job Overview Position: Technical Team Member, Mechanical Control Lab (MCL) – Onsite 1st shift (Weekdays) – Location: Columbus, GA (Macon Rd). Requirement: U.S. Person (citizen, permanent resident, or protected individual). Security clearance: None. What You Will Do Perform daily walk‑arounds prior to testing Receive in and inspect testing specimens for accuracy Sort priorities as needed Operate multiple creep, stress rupture, and tensile mechanical testing machines for specimen destructive testing Comply with all required training, including quality procedures, MCL manuals, and standard work Log testing data in UGA as needed Maintain required log books Check/validate testing accuracy Perform 6S each shift Engage in process optimization to enable production/quality goals while achieving cost savings Complete all training within the expected time given The role is 1st shift, weekdays. Qualifications You Must Have High school diploma or GED 1+ year of relevant experience, preferably in manufacturing production and/or quality Familiarity with micrometer, calipers, microscopes, and other measuring equipment U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract Willingness to work the scheduled shift and potential need to train on an alternate shift. Overtime may be required.
