LEVEL A & LEVEL B

At Hendrickson Fire Rescue , we believe being a diesel technician is about more than fixing trucks. Our technicians work on the emergency vehicles that firefighters, EMS teams, municipalities, and first responders rely on when lives are on the line.
We are looking for Level A and Level B Emergency Vehicle Diesel Technicians to join our Congers, NY team.
THIS IS NOT YOUR AVERAGE DIESEL TECHNICIAN JOB.
You'll work on specialized emergency vehicles and equipment, diagnose complex mechanical and electrical issues, and help keep critical response vehicles ready to perform when they are needed most.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain emergency vehicles and specialty apparatus
- Perform advanced diesel engine diagnostics and repairs
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and air systems
- Perform preventive maintenance and inspections
- Diagnose and repair drivability and performance issues
- Work with computerized diagnostic equipment and service information
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation
- Document repairs and communicate findings clearly
- Work as part of a highly skilled technical team
- Continue developing your knowledge of emergency vehicles, diesel technology, and new systems
- Help ensure every vehicle leaves our facility safe, reliable, and ready to respond
LEVEL A AND B TECHNICIAN'S
Our Level A and B Technicians are highly experienced professionals who can independently diagnose and repair complex diesel and emergency vehicle systems.
You should be comfortable taking ownership of difficult repairs, troubleshooting problems others may not be able to solve, and serving as a technical resource for the team.
Ideal Level A candidates bring:
- Significant diesel technician experience
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities
- Advanced knowledge of diesel engines and vehicle systems
- Ability to independently complete complex repairs
- Strong electrical and electronic diagnostic skills
- Ability to read schematics and technical documentation
- Professional communication and documentation skills
- A commitment to quality workmanship and safety
