Position Overview * Department : Cardiovascular ICU - CVICU * Schedule: Available Shifts Part-time Nights, 7:00 p.m to 7:00 a.m. PRN - Nights * Work Location: UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham * Benefits for eligible positions include: generous paid time off, paid parental leave, Associate Assistance Program, Tuition Reimbursement Program, and more The Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) at UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham has 17 bed s and provides specialized care to critically ill patients recovering from complex cardiothoracic , vascular , and cardiac procedures. Our fast-paced critical care unit offers opportunities for growth through collaboration with other members of the care team, continuing education, and leadership development . Job Description Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization. * Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate. * Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. * Note and carry out physician and nursing orders. * Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team. Qualifications Licensure / Certification / Registration: * BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. * Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. * Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Education: * Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing AND Required professional licensure at time of hire.
