Full-Time PeriOp Tech/Retractor Holder The PeriOp Tech/Retractor Holder works in the Main Operating Room under the supervision of Surgical Services Leadership. The holder is responsible for assisting with the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures by holding retractors, preparing and cleaning operating suites, and supporting patient transport and waste disposal. Primary Responsibilities Hold retractors during surgical procedures under supervision. Transport patients to and from surgery. Ensure cleaning measures to control infection, including cleaning, disinfecting, and disposing of soiled linen and solid waste. Assist with room turnover and preparation for subsequent procedures in a timely manner. Collect and properly dispose of all waste, including biohazardous materials. Assist with limited patient care in the operating room, recovery area, and procedure rooms as directed by a registered nurse. Required Skills High school graduate or GED; ability to read, write, and follow directions. Previous clinical experience in an operating room environment desired. Current BLS certification. Ability to follow established cleaning methods during daily tasks. Ability to perform routine repetitive cleaning of assigned rooms, offices, restrooms, and other areas. Must keep all equipment in good working condition. Hospital experience 2–5 years. Recommended experience with Pyxis and Cerner systems. Benefits Medical, dental, vision, and prescription coverage.
