Responsibilities Safely load, unload, and transport packages using various delivery vehicles such as box trucks or courier vans, adhering to all safety protocols. Drive assigned routes efficiently while maintaining compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and local traffic laws. Use manual handling techniques for heavy lifting and moving items, ensuring safe lifting practices at all times. Load and secure packages properly using equipment like pallet jacks or forklifts when necessary to prevent damage during transit. Deliver parcels directly to customers’ doorsteps with professionalism and excellent customer service skills, addressing any questions or concerns courteously. Conduct route driving with precision, ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining awareness of road safety and traffic conditions. Assist in the loading and unloading process, ensuring proper weight handling in the workplace to prevent injuries or accidents. Qualifications Prior warehouse experience or familiarity with logistics operations is preferred. Experience as a delivery driver or courier, especially involving box trucks or similar vehicles. Knowledge of safe lifting practices, manual handling procedures, and heavy lifting techniques. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience driving manual transmission vehicles is a plus. Ability to operate equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks safely when required. Strong customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor. Understanding of DOT regulations related to commercial driving and route driving safety. Physical ability to move loads efficiently, including lifting heavy packages while following safe lifting practices.
