Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Profession: Nursing Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Days Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in MS-Tele License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Must have 2 years of MS-Tele experience in the last 3 years. Prefer prior neuro experience. Prefer Alaris and EPIC experience. Description: The role involves floating throughout various facilities within a designated zone. Travelers are expected to float to multiple units including General MS-Tele and various specialties. Patient ratios range from 1:5-6 based on acuity. The patient population includes adults and geriatrics with various diagnoses including Cardiac, Neuro, Ortho, Oncology, Renal, and General Surgery. RNs are required to titrate drips, including Heparin. Designated charge nurses on each unit do not take patient assignments unless necessary. This position requires flexibility to fill in scheduling gaps as needed. Weekend shifts of 6-9 are required within a 6-week schedule. May be asked to participate in a holiday rotation. RNs are responsible for monitoring patients and reading telemetry strips. Travelers may be assigned to any acuity level, including low acuity holds within skillset. All travelers must float within the designated zone. Shifts are scheduled by leadership 6 weeks in advance. Time off requests must be submitted prior to the start of the assignment. The cancellation policy allows for up to 4 shift cancellations during the assignment. Charting utilizes an electronic health record system. This is an acute care setting.
