Middle School Girls Basketball Coach (Grades 6-8)

Head Coach - Girls Basketball Richmond County Public Schools seeks an enthusiastic individual to serve as the Head Coach for the Girls Middle School Basketball program at Richmond County Elementary Middle School. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for basketball, a commitment to student‑athlete development, and the ability to foster a positive and inclusive team culture. Responsibilities Maintain and lead the Girls Basketball program. Foster positive communication with parents, athletes, and potential athletes. Assist with coordinating off‑season camps and conditioning programs. Encourage good sportsmanship and enthusiasm for the sport. Collaborate with other coaches to ensure a comprehensive approach to athlete development. Perform other duties as necessary to support the mission and vision of Richmond County Public Schools. Know and understand the basic basketball rules and regulations. Reports To Athletic Director and Principal Qualifications Prior coaching experience. Professional demeanor and ability to work well in a fast‑paced environment with diverse individuals. Ability to read and interpret professional materials, complete forms, write reports, and communicate effectively. Problem‑solving and ability to follow written, oral, and diagrammed instructions. Ability to identify student needs and build effective relationships with students, staff, administrators, and parents. Physical demands: ability to communicate in a busy environment, move around gymnasiums, and read materials. Regular attendance, including frequent evening and weekend work, is required.
