Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Learning & Development Specialist to design, deliver, and manage training programs across all departments of our organization, including Sales, Marketing, Inside Sales, Customer Service, Order Entry, Supply Chain, Production, and Fabrication. This role is critical in ensuring employees are well-equipped with the knowledge, skills, and compliance understanding necessary to excel in their roles and meet the company’s objectives. The Learning & Development Specialist will also oversee training documentation and reporting to ensure consistency, quality, and compliance across the organization.
Essential Job Functions
Onboarding and New Hire Training:
- Develop, deliver, and monitor engaging onboarding programs for new employees to ensure smooth integration into the company.
- Tailor training programs to address the specific needs of each department.
Ongoing Training and Development:
- Conduct skills assessments to identify training needs for employees in various departments.
- Create and deliver training programs to address knowledge gaps, improve skills, and enhance performance.
- Identify and collaborate with third party providers to deliver role specific training.
Compliance Training:
- Design and deliver training sessions to ensure all employees understand and comply with industry regulations and company policies.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of compliance requirements affecting various departments.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation for all training materials and programs.
- Track and report training completion rates, employee performance metrics, and the effectiveness of training programs.
- Utilize learning management systems (LMS) or other tools to record and analyze training data.
Collaboration Across Departments:
- Partner with departmental leaders to align training initiatives with business goals.
- Act as a resource for employees seeking guidance on technical topics or company policies.
Continuous Improvement:
- Gather feedback from employees and department heads to refine and enhance training programs.
- Implement innovative training methods and tools to improve engagement and knowledge retention.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design.
- Familiarity with training tools and technologies, including LMS platforms.
- Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with attention to detail.
- Ability to analyze data and generate actionable insights.
- Knowledge of compliance standards relevant to the company’s industry is a plus.
- May require occasional domestic or international travel.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Human Resources, Business, or a related field or equivalent experience.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Proven experience in training design, delivery, and program management in a technical or industrial environment.
