We are an established civil litigation defense firm representing businesses, insurers, and professionals in complex litigation matters throughout North Carolina. Our attorneys handle a broad range of cases including construction litigation, commercial disputes, products liability, professional liability, and premises liability matters. We are seeking a motivated Associate Attorney with at least 3 years of civil litigation experience to join our growing litigation practice. This role offers the opportunity to handle meaningful litigation work in a collaborative environment with direct involvement in case strategy and client representation. The ideal candidate will have experience managing civil litigation matters from initial pleadings through resolution and be comfortable handling court appearances, depositions, written discovery, and motion practice.

Responsibilities include managing a caseload of civil litigation matters from inception through resolution, drafting pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and legal memoranda, conducting legal research and preparing case evaluations, taking and defending depositions, attending court hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials as needed, communicating directly with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and insurers, developing litigation strategy and assisting with trial preparation, and maintaining accurate billing and case management records.

Qualifications include a Juris Doctor from an accredited law school, an active North Carolina bar license in good standing, minimum 3 years of civil litigation experience, experience in one or more of the following preferred: construction litigation, commercial litigation, products liability, professional liability, premises liability, strong written and verbal communication skills, experience handling discovery, depositions, and motion practice, ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team, strong organizational and time management skills.

Work environment includes an indoor office setting, hybrid and remote work capabilities provided as needed, full-time position.
