POSITION PURPOSEPlay a principal role in supporting, building, managing and planning SCU’s core ERP applications and new technology.B. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESProvide technical leadership and expertise in the Workday ecosystemProvide project leadershipMentor other EA staff in Workday technologyOther duties as assignedC. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIESProvide technical leadership and expertise in the Workday ecosystem.Design and maintenance of security framework for all Workday functional areas, complying with University Data Security policies and end user requirements.Design, Development, Deployment and Maintenance of Integration systems from Workday to external vendor systems and other internal systems in SCU using Workday integration tools and external integration design tools for Web Service consumption.Data Audit, Conversion Build, Formatting and processing for reporting needs, data corrections, mass data updates into various areas of Workday system.Design and development of custom modules for SCU specific requirements to track Financial information, including requirements gathering from end users, design of system, development and testing of business process, reporting and integrations.Redesign and troubleshoot system configurations per end user requirements, following implementation procedures, including testing and deploymentProvide expertise in Workday domain that may include but is not limited to:Configurable securityIntegration tools (EIB, Workday Studio, Core Connectors and Document Transformation)Business processes and custom report development, including BIRTData conversionHolistic view of Workday system as a whole, and ability to identify impact of changes beyond discrete functional areasHelp establish a well controlled systems environment by defining, documenting, and enforcing system standardsCollaborate with the Workday Community in order to resolve issues and proactively remain informed about enhancementsIdentify opportunities for system improvementProvide analysis, system changes, and organizational skills to solve various technical problems that may be outside the scope of other EA staff expertiseHelp technically to expand and/or connect Enterprise Applications functionality with other technical services provided by IT2. Provide project leadershipLead teams of EA and functional office staff on focused projects to deliver new and/or improved services. In the process, engage key stakeholders, value different technical/functional approaches and possible solutions, explain criteria for decision-making and identifying best choices, and help define and ensure successful testing and timely delivery.Gather requirements, design, develop, deploy and maintain system modules, troubleshooting user issues and coordinating with multiple end user offices for cross functional projects.Smoke test existing configurations, performance tune and explore new features and functionality during biannual feature release. Simplify existing system complexities and streamline processes for better system usage and user experience.Work independently on projects not requiring a team approach3. Mentor other EA staff in Workday technologyWork with EA staff on improving their skills in specific areas. This may take the form of 1-on-1 tutoring or presentations to groups of EA staffConduct “walkthroughs” and best practices for proposed analysis or configuration modifications, and points out useful resources for further studyIdentify areas for growth, provide insights and share helpful feedback, and provide tips for building professional networks within Workday Community and beyondWork with management to research, recommend, and implement training programsDevelop documentation on typical functions, processes, configurations used within Workday4. Provide Support for legacy ERP systemsMaintain user security and troubleshoot access issuesDeconstruct PeopleSoft Components to isolate records and data for any legacy reporting needsMaintain legacy systems, including any patching or migration requirements as infrastructure needs dictateAssist users with finding financial transactions in legacy system.5. Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesComprehensive knowledge of Workday Security design and configuration, including Authentication Policy design and maintenance, system account maintenance and account security, and data security auditsComprehensive knowledge of Workday Integration (including EIB and Cloud Connect), Workday Studio, Web Services and Java programmingComprehensive knowledge of Workday reporting tools, including Calculated Fields, PRISM, and Standard, Custom, Composite, Matrix, BIRT and XPresso reports.Comprehensive knowledge of PeopleSoft tool set, including Application Designer, PeopleCode, SQR, and Application Engine.Comprehensive knowledge of Workday system administration tools including Business Process Administration and Design, Condition Rules, Custom Validations, System Configuration design, Custom Object development and Request Framework designThorough knowledge of systems analysis tools and techniquesThorough knowledge of project management techniques.Comprehensive knowledge of data extraction and processing tools including SQL, Python, XML and JSON formatting.Comprehensive knowledge of Workday FinanceAbility to multi-task and handle various projects simultaneously to drive timely resultsExcellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skillsEducationBA/BS required. Graduate education is preferred.Workday Pro Certification preferred, in any technical track: Integrations, Reporting, Security, or StudioExperienceMinimum of 8 years of experience in ERP support or software development lifecycle.Minimum of 2 years of experience providing technical support for Workday Finance, including reporting, integrations, security, business processes, and configuration management.Minimum of 2 years of experience providing technical support for PeopleSoft, including PeopleTools, PeopleCode, and Application Designer.E.
