Maintenance Mechanic

The Maintenance Technician is primarily responsible for troubleshooting and repairing manufacturing equipment, performing preventive maintenance, ordering parts, completing work orders, and coordinating maintenance and repair of Balco's facility. This role has a schedule of four 10‑hour days per week (Mon‑Thurs) with occasional overtime. Responsibilities Perform routine preventive maintenance and document activities in the maintenance log. Capable of repairing machinery as needed. Inspect and verify equipment is operating at manufacturing standards and required safety guards are operational. Offer solutions for equipment and/or unsafe condition. Coordinate with other department leads for large projects, ensuring each department’s contribution is scheduled and production is uninterrupted. Participate in all necessary training functions for your position. Maintain regular and routine attendance. Perform other job duties as required. Qualifications (Skills & Knowledge) Ability to safely and effectively use power tools and machinery such as saws, drills, sanders, grinders, nail guns, paint guns, punch presses, shear, brakes, mills, and other applicable equipment once operational competency has been documented. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally verbally and in writing. Ability to complete work accurately and on time. Ability to work collaboratively with direct team members or across departments, and independently as needed. Ability to properly use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Candidates required to operate a lift truck must obtain certification and safely operate the equipment. Education A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Experience 3+ years of experience performing maintenance in a manufacturing or technical environment. Experience working with various departments. Experience maintaining hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems. Physical Conditions: Production: This position works in a production facility and is regularly required to sit or stand for extended periods of time and use PPE such as eye/face protection, hearing protection, steel toes, etc. Location: In‑office: This role is located at our office in Wichita, Kansas. Employees must be present at the office and available to perform the essential functions of their jobs whenever scheduled. Other Requirements Must successfully pass a background check and drug screen. Must be able to safely lift 40 pounds.
