The academic programs that the Sue & Bill Gross School of Nursing offers include a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Science, a Master of Science in Nursing Science (MEPN), a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Nursing Science. Your Role on the Team The Clinical Education and Placement Manager provides high-level management for the Sue & Bill Gross School of Nursing clinical programs, focusing on identifying new clinical sites, securing and maintaining affiliation agreements, building community relationships with key stakeholders, coordinating student placements, onboarding, clearance, scheduling, and compliance for clinical rotations. This role serves as a liaison between students, faculty, administration, and healthcare agencies, while supporting accreditation efforts and community partner engagement and recruitment. This position encompasses database management, evaluation data oversight, and system implementation to enhance the clinical education infrastructure. General management activities include finance and human resources and long and short-range strategic planning in determining the mission and direction of all activities of the clinical placement process through subordinate support staff and peer managers/unit leads. Reporting directly to the Director of Clinical Nursing Administration with a dotted line to the Associate Dean for Clinical Programs and Clinical Faculty, this manager collaborates closely with clinical program directors for RN prelicensure programs (undergraduate and masters) and the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program and concentrations. The Clinical Education and Placement Manager holds a degree in nursing or has knowledge of nursing and how nurses (RN/APRN) work in various healthcare and clinical settings. What It Takes to be Successful Required: Knowledge of the health professions education industry, administrative analysis and operations research. Knowledge of assigned program requirements and curriculum. Knowledge of department, organization, HR and university policies and processes. Current knowledge of relevant industry federal, state and local laws and regulations including national accrediting organizations and state and federal licensing and regulatory offices. Demonstrated leadership skills in training and guiding employees on educational techniques. Motivates and inspires staff to improve the health profession education services. Demonstrated ability to prioritize effectively to meet deadlines in a complex, challenging environment. Ability to organize assigned staff and unit operations in an efficient and effective manner. Effective communication skills with peers, learners, faculty, and other education program coordinators / managers. Skills to evaluate issues and identify solutions within defined procedures and policies. Demonstrated ability to solve problems and suggest solutions through critical thinking process. Strong verbal and written communication skills to explain technical health profession / education concepts, actively listen, persuade, advise, and counsel. In-depth knowledge of educational software and technologies to promote a wide-range of teaching and learning goals. Thorough knowledge of nursing and how nurses (RN/APRN) work in various healthcare and clinical settings. Demonstrated management and conflict resolution skills to effectively lead and motivate others. Bachelor's or master's degree in nursing 3-5 years working in a healthcare/clinical setting or in healthcare administration Preferred: Knowledge of California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN) licensure requirements and/or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) accreditation standards. Academic program experience (university) Broad knowledge of common organization-specific and other computer application programs. Broad knowledge of financial analysis and reporting techniques; human resources and risk management planning; and / or accounting and payroll.
