GCP Data Engineer

Work Arrangement: On-site – Local candidates only Employment Type: Contract or Full-Time About the Role We are looking for experienced GCP Data Engineers to join our team in Atlanta or Seattle. The ideal candidate will have strong hands‑on experience designing and developing scalable data solutions on Google Cloud Platform, with particular expertise in Cloud Spanner and graph database technologies . This is an on‑site position , and candidates must be local to the Atlanta or Seattle area and able to work on‑site. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain scalable data engineering solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) . Build and optimize data pipelines for high-volume and complex datasets. Develop data solutions using Google Cloud Spanner . Work with graph databases , including data modeling, querying, and optimization. Design efficient data models and database schemas based on application and business requirements. Develop ETL/ELT processes and data integration workflows. Optimize data pipelines and database performance for scalability and reliability. Collaborate with data architects, software engineers, and other technical teams. Implement data quality, governance, security, and monitoring best practices. Troubleshoot data pipeline and database issues in production environments. Participate in architecture and technical design discussions. Required Skills Strong hands‑on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) . Strong experience with Cloud Spanner . Hands‑on experience with graph databases and graph data modeling. Strong SQL and database development skills. Experience building enterprise‑scale ETL/ELT data pipelines . Experience with data modeling and database design. Strong understanding of distributed data systems and cloud architecture. Experience with cloud‑native data engineering technologies. Strong problem‑solving and communication skills. Preferred Skills Experience with GCP data services such as BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Dataproc, or Composer. Experience with graph technologies such as Neo4j or similar platforms. Experience with Python, Java, or Scala. Experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices.
