Associate Researcher- Immunology and Immunotherapy

The Associate Researcher is an entry laboratory research position, responsible for conduct of routine and standardized experiments using techniques specific to the assigned research project under the supervision of the Principal Investigator or a senior researcher. This individual assists in the interpretation of research outcomes and may be responsible for lab and clerical support. S/he analyzes and assists in interpreting research outcomes.

What You’ll Do: Under the supervision of Dr. Mera at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai the research technician will play a key role in advancing CRISPR-based functional genomics programs. This position will support the development, execution, optimization, and standardization of CRISPR screening workflows across multiple research projects, while serving as a technical expert in molecular biology methodologies.

• Execute CRISPR screening experiments in mammalian cell systems.

• Establish, optimize, and standardize laboratory protocols and best practices for CRISPR screening workflows, ensuring reproducibility across projects.

• Design, clone, validate and maintain CRISPR libraries, guide RNA constructs, and associated molecular biology reagents.

• Perform advanced molecular biology techniques including PCR, qPCR, DNA/RNA extraction, cloning, lentiviral production, library preparation.

• Collaborate with computational scientists and research teams to support screen design, data interpretation, and follow-up validation studies.

• Analyze experimental results and maintain detailed laboratory records to support publications, presentations, and regulatory documentation.

• Ensure all work is conducted in compliance with approved protocols, institutional policies, biosafety regulations, and applicable regulatory requirements.

• Assist with laboratory organization, inventory and general laboratory operations.

• Proficient use of excel, word, power point and computational software is necessary. 

• Bachelors degree in science or related field preferred, or combination of relevant research experience and education
• 0-2 years of research/laboratory experience

Compensation

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $17 - $34.1212 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
