Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Neuro Stepdown Duration: 13 or 26 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years in a large urban hospital License: Current RN License required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, NIHSS Must-Have: - EPIC charting experience - Prior experience in a Level I trauma center - Ability to manage drips and telemetry patients - Experience in mixed acuity units Description: This is a travel nurse position requiring flexibility to float to various units according to staffing needs. The unit specializes in mixed acuity care, focused on neurology and neurosurgery patients. Staff will care for a variety of neurological conditions, including strokes, aneurysms, and seizures. The patient-to-nurse ratio is typically 1:5 during the day for med-surg/telemetry patients. Night ratios may extend to 1:7, depending on staffing levels. Stepdown ratios are 1:3-4 for both days and nights. Nurses will assist in managing various drips and infusions as required. Candidates must be willing to float within their scope of practice to other relevant areas. Emergent holiday coverage is expected, particularly during major holidays. This facility is a 100% nicotine-free environment and values a collaborative care team.
