About the Role Provides direct supervision, care, and teaching to children/young adults with Developmental Disabilities (ages 3-22) Work as a team to provide a safe environment. Share your own skills and interests. Create a bond with those you support. Help children to participate in fun activities and lessons and field trips. Provide assistance in all areas of self-care, hygiene and toileting. Engage children in recreational, academic, social skills, fitness, and other activities. Assists children to manage their behaviors through prevention strategies, implementation of individual behavior plans, de-escalation and crisis-intervention strategies Paid Training & Certifications Employee Assistance Program for you and your immediate family What are the requirements? High School Diploma or GED Must have a minimum of 1 year of professional experience working with children (preferably children with developmental disabilities and behavioral challenges) Must successfully complete required screening: Level II background check, physical and drug screen Must complete Professional Crisis Management Training (provided). Must be at least 18 years of age. You have the physical abilities to bend, lift, stand, squat, walk, run, balance, reach, kneel, pull, and push while working with children and adolescents.
