Restaurant Assistant General Manager

Job Description

The Restaurant Assistant General Manager plays a key role in supporting the overall management of a medium-sized team, typically consisting of 10-30 staff. Reporting directly to the Owner/Partner, this position ensures smooth daily operations through effective staff supervision, budget oversight, quality control, and regulatory compliance. The role is largely onsite with rare or no travel expected and offers strong opportunities for career advancement toward a General Manager position.

Responsibilities

Supervise and support restaurant staff to maintain high performance and morale
Manage the restaurant budget, including cost control and financial reporting
Ensure quality assurance standards are consistently met
Monitor compliance with health, safety, and other regulatory requirements

Preferred Qualifications

5+ years experience in restaurant management
Proven team leadership skills
Strong customer service orientation
Experience with inventory management and staff training
Conflict resolution capabilities
Scheduling and food safety compliance knowledge

We're located in downtown historic Ferguson, Missouri known for its great businesses and lovely homes. Our restaurant seats 218 customers and we're open seven days per week.
