Security Officer - Day Shift

JOB DESCRIPTION Each University of Vermont Medical Center Security Officer is assigned to a specific Campus. The primary responsibilities of the Security Officer are to conduct patrol duties, respond immediately to emergency and non-emergency calls for assistance, and document services provided on each shift. The Security Officer is expected to act in a courteous and professional manner at all times. Note: Emergency calls for assistance frequently require Security Officers to take the lead in controlling a violent/threatening situation after clinical and non-clinical staff have attempted to verbally deescalate a difficult situation. Security intervention frequently requires detaining and/or restraining the violent patient, visitor, or staff member. EDUCATION High School graduate or equivalent. Valid driver’s license and safe driving record. EXPERIENCE Prior security or public safety experience preferred, with an emphasis on providing a safe and dignified environment in stressful situations with a diverse patient, visitor and staff population. #J-18808-Ljbffr The University of Vermont Health Network
