Registered Nurse IMC/PCU/Stepdown

Job Summary:

Seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse for a 13- or 18-week contract on an IMC/PCU/Stepdown unit. The role involves working in a dynamic, team-based environment caring for patients with complex needs, including respiratory and cardiovascular conditions.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Provide comprehensive, patient-centered care to a diverse population including COPD, CHF, pneumonia, sepsis, DKA, and post-COVID patients.
  
  
• 
  Collaborate with team members to implement care plans, including vent management, High-Oxygen therapy, and trach care.
  
  
• 
  Interpret EKG strips and respond appropriately, demonstrating proficiency in tele-telemetry.
  
  
• 
  Administer and monitor IV drips such as insulin, heparin, and Cardizem, ensuring accuracy and safety.
  
  
• 
  Maintain strict adherence to unit protocols, including ventilator management and high-acuity patient care.
  
  
• 
  Document all clinical observations and interventions accurately in EPIC electronic health records.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Valid RN license with active or compact state license.
  
  
• 
  Minimum 1.5 years of relevant ICU or Stepdown experience, including vent management.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrated proficiency in EPIC charting and EKG interpretation.
  
  
• 
  Experience with team nursing models preferred.
  
  
• 
  Ability to work night shifts (4x12 hours) and be flexible for hospital floating.
  
  
• 
  BLS and ACLS certifications required; must pass an online EKG tele competency assessment.
